Process Definition

The defining of a new project or phase in which the initial scope defined along with the commitment and authorization of financial resources to commence the process of discovery of identifying sponsors, stakeholders and customers to obtain an in-depth understanding of the scope requirements beyond the initial scope. The initiation group in project management composed of two Knowledge areas Develop Project Charter and Identify Stakeholders, which feed into the Planning Process Group.

4.0 Project Integration

The coordination, management, and interaction and consolidation of defined process activities, which entails communication, control and decisions based upon project requirements. Managing multiple processes meshing these processes, which fulfill stakeholder-defined requirements.

13.0 Project Stakeholder Management

Deals with the identification of key stakeholders internal and external to the organization and formulates plans to regulate and engage stakeholders throughout the project life cycle. Stakeholder analysis is ongoing throughout the project life cycle. Stakeholder engagement is essential in reformulating and regulating stakeholder involvement and minimizing miscommunication and conflict.
