6.2 Define Activities
Process Definition
This process takes project requirements, and breaks each of the project requirements into work packages. These work packages simplify the tasks into measurable activities. Each of these activities provides a deliverable. Each deliverable provides an easy way to cost, schedule, and execute each work package, monitor, and control each deliverable.
Process Assessment
Defining the activities needed to produce a measurable work package creates schedule estimates. This makes it easier to accomplish each milestone showing project progress by producing achievable milestone results leading to high team morale.
Define Activities
6.2.1
Input
The project scope comparison is an input made to determine if the project is on track or has varied from the requirements. If there is variance then corrective action is put in place. Created in PGMT 501, Rock and Roll Design Landscape project.
6.2.2
Tools and Techniques
PGMT 614, bicycle project depicts the decomposition of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and WBS dictionary. This is utilized to convey decomposition information in a graphical or table format. This tool is used to help communicate the multi-tier WBS structures within the organization and with stakeholders.
6.2.3
Outputs
In Paws of Adoption project created in PGMT 502, a template lists the milestones created based upon the defined requirements a milestone list created as an output.
