4.6 Close Project or Phase
Process Definition
Close Project or Phase wrapping up all the project processes finalizes all Project Management Process Groups to Close a Project or Phase after all the defined requirements and objectives. Close Project or Phase is a formalized process to document and store all project documents for informational and legal purposes. The closeout of the project finalizes the agreement with an acceptance package and delivery of deliverables to the customer. This releases resources no longer required through termination of contract or reassignment of personnel to other projects.
Process Assessment
The closing down of all project activities ensures closure for all project processes a method documenting the project for future reference. Closure provides the customer with an acceptance package documenting and delivery of deliverables. Audits were performed to evaluate project performance. Project closure communicates with all parties involved in the project's termination of legal contracts and the reassignment of resources within the company. In essence, closing the books and storing the paperwork for future reference for lessons learned.
