10.1 Plan Communications Management Process

 Definition 

Communication Management is the ability to articulate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner. Communication between all parties is essential in disseminating and receiving information and reporting "The Good" "The Bad" and "The Ugly." As a project manager information is the lifeblood of a project. Communication requires stakeholder analysis to determine risk tolerance and what reports are relevant to each stakeholder.

 Process Assessment

Communication takes into account cultural factors and customs. Effective communication requires the ability to adapt and tailor the message to the audience at hand. Project managers also must encourage participation among-st stakeholder groups to ensure that the input given in developing a project is collaborative and not a single point.  In other words, project collaboration utilizes multiple platforms and methods of information gathering to paint a possible picture solution to a particular situation.

Stakeholder Analysis 611:

In PGMT 611, ITD project stakeholder analysis was performed to identify risk tolerance levels and communication management input of those risk tolerance levels such as "Face to Face" based on the risk level identified.

Tools and Techniques 

Technical Summary Communications 612:

In PGMT 612, an in-depth summary on communication and tools and techniques used to overcome the language barrier in a foreign country. Such as uploading reports in one language and having them translated into another language.
