4.5 Perform Integrated Change Control
Process Definition
Perform Integrated Change Control main function to evaluate existing request for change. Manage the processes involved in making a change and update all plans to reflect the new defined requirement. Project plans reworked and base lined. Integration controls all request for changes and has the power to approve or disapprove of those change requests. This process controls and accounts for all change requests thus eliminating unwanted scope creep.
Process Assessment
Integrated Change Control implemented at the beginning of the Initiating Group and clearly put down in the ground rules. In this way, there is no excuse for scope creep. Having a Change Control Board implement Integrated Change Control helps all parties control scope creep. Scope creep leads to project failure and this is not a good thing.
