4.4 Monitor and Control Project Work
Process Definition
Monitoring and controlling the process of tracking, analyzing, and reporting the status of project process health.
Process Assessment
Monitoring controls utilize all project plans as baseline control. An active sampling of deliverables compared against project plan baselines measures project progress. Analysis of project progress provides real-time information to stakeholders. Comparisons determine variance or adherence to the scope, budget, and schedule of project deliverables. Action is required if variance falls outside of predetermined tolerances, which impedes the progress of the project plan.
